The newest hdl_dump has an 'initialize' function, which allows you to install a software (in the proper KELF format, which allegedly isn't the same kind of KELF used for FreeMCBoot/DVD Player as in my guide) as the bootloader for your HDD (replacing the FreeHDBoot/HDDOSD/PSBBN loaders); and you can download some version of uLaunchELF in that format Also, if the issue happens to be with your FreeHDBoot configuration (and you installed it with the official installer without removing the usb drivers from the installation folder), it will autoboot 'rescue.elf' from USB. On the first time it started bootlooping after I plugged my USB drive to transfer a few edited saves. Apparently some Kingston drives cause this, for some unknown reason. The second time happened because I couldn't delete the ART folder, so I could copy an updated one, so I just renamed the old one as ART2 and copied the new one to the HDD. I don't have an MC and am using FreeHD Boot, as I prefer to have all the saves on the HDD and not have anything protruding from the console. I ended up just backing up all the games, formating the drive and do the whole process again. In the end I gave up trying to do anything that involves plugging a USB drive to the console, as it seems that's what's causing it to bootloop.
