It looks like Sony is going to phase out my beloved Clip Browser, but here's a way to get the latest for free! Works as expected with Edius. >Offer valid from March 1, 2013 until June 1, 2013.edit. I downloaded it too expecting it to be better at handling AVCHD NXCam files but to be honest the consumer PlayMemories or PMB does have some AVCHD management features that are better then either of the Professional products and happily handle NXCAm AVCHD with LPCM audio too. With the consumer versions the normal Windows file selection conventions work.

Select the first then hold shift etc etc or use ALT+. For neither the Content Management Utility or the new Browser 2.0 these Windows file selection conventions do not work. Have to select files individually.

So I use a mix of them all when I have to. Other advantage of PlayMemories or PMB is location to save files can be made during file select rather than before as is the case with the Content Management Utility for NXCAM cameras. On my editing PC I have PMB, Content Management Utility, XDCAm EX ClipBrowser 2.6 and the new Content Browser 2.0. All seem to work happily together!! On my second PC I have PlayMemories instead of PMB but the same set other than that they work OK too. On either PC if any source plugged in to the PC has video or still files the consumer versions will open up automatically for transfer.

Content Browser is an all-in-one clip management application that can be used with the latest portfolio of Sony camcorders and decks. Content Browser integrates XDCAM Browser (XDCAM) and Content Management Utility (NXCAM) into a single application. Sign in to report inappropriate content. A lot of you asked me how to download Sony Vegas for free. As most of you know, I used Windows Movie Maker to edit my videos but.

They do not seem to see EX sources though but do see GoPro but do not transfer correctly viewing mov files as jpg stills!!! I have applied for the serial number, but after over a week still no sign of it. Tried to get to Customer Services as suggested on the Sony site, but can't find anyone to contact. Has anyone got a suggestion of what I should do to try and get the serial number? Do you already have Sony professional gear registered with Sony?

I have and my serial came through within seconds as my Sony Warranties etc are linked to my email. If you have I would suggest you give Sony professional support a call. If not you might try registering again if it allows you to.

JFYI, we recently posted Content Browser 2.0 with support for the new XAVC codecs. Note that 2.0 has a different activation requirement-- you will need a serial # supplied with the camera or else purchased from the Sony Creative Software storefront. The charge is nominal (20.00, I believe) but still represents a departure from how we have handled the distribution of the Browser software in the past. We are sorting out the upgrade path and related details. For now, you do not need 2.0 unless you are using an F5 or F55. XDCAM and XDCAM EX users should stick with 1.1, which continues to be available here: Just to refresh the details on CB 1.1-- The base app is free, with chargeable add-ons for the XDCAM Advanced Pack (live logging and planning metadata support, mostly), NXCAM and the Main Concept encoder plug-in.
