On the journey you will hear traditional songs, taste smoked salmon and view the spectacular totems from the water at Saxman as our Native ancestors have done for centuries. Once you arrive at Saxman Village, you will disembark the canoe and travel to the village by van to join your guide for an exclusive tour of Saxman. Your guide will share the crests and stories of the totem poles and describe its robust history as well as share the life and culture of the Natives that live here. During your visit at Saxman you may visit the Village Store and see traditional Native arts and crafts reflecting the rich heritage of the local Native peoples. This store has a wide range of mementos and souvenirs to commemorate your visit to Saxman Village.
You will also see the artist’s co-op and see their unique Native artwork and crafts. The Saxman Beaver Clan House is a gorgeous house made in the traditional style of cedar plank.
