Method 1: Run Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter Follow these steps to run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter: • Press Windows key + X and click on Control Panel. • Select Troubleshooting. • Select View all on the top left corner. • Click Hardware and Devices.
• Follow the on-screen instruction to run the troubleshooter. Method 2: Check Device status I suggest you to check if the device is listed in Device manager. If listed, then you can check the device status to find out what exactly is causing this issue. Follow the steps given below to check the status of the device in Device Manager: • Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
• Expand Hard Drive and right-click on the drive. • Select Properties and check if the device is working properly under Device Status. If there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it, then it indicates that there are some issues with it. Method 3 I suggest you to check if the disk is listed in Disk management utility. If it is listed, run an error check to see if there are any corrupted files causing this issue.
Refer these steps: • Press Windows key +X, select Disk management. • Right click on the drive and select properties.
• Under tools tab, click on “ Check” button under Error Check. Method 4 If drive shows up in disk management and does not have a drive letter then assign one.
Follow the steps below: • Press Windows key + X, select Disk management. • Right-click the drive and then click Add. Coda 2 serial number free. • Click the letter that you want to use, and then click OK.
To change a drive letter, click Change, click Assign the following drive letter, click the letter that you want to use, and then click OK. Method 5: Uninstall and reinstall USB drivers Follow the steps to uninstall the USB drivers: • Press Windows Key + X key and click Device Manager. • In Device Manager, double click to expand ' Universal Serial Bus controllers'. • Right click on the Host Controller, click ' Uninstall' and click ' OK'. • Select the option to Delete driver software. • Uninstall all items under ' Universal Serial Bus controllers'.
• Restart the computer after its uninstalled. Try to access the computer manufacturer's website and download the latest chipset drivers for your computer and install the same. One was upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 when the drive stopped working. I also got a brand new HP desktop that came with windows 10. The Drive didn't work in it either until I put in a different USB 3.0 card.
I would say this is a windows issue.since it works fine on the same hardware with windows 7 (and even Linux for that matter).
