CME UF5 49-KEY USB/MIDI KEYBOARD CONTROLLER The CME UF5 MIDI Master Controller keyboard is designed for professional musicians to use in the studio or take on the road. As such it has a body that is made of metal. This results in a MIDI master controller keyboard that both looks good and has the strength required by demanding musicians. It's not just the superior casing that sets the UF5 apart - you will notice the solid and comfortable nature of the controls, not to mention the superior action of the weighted keyboards too. The CME quality extends throughout. The UF5 features CME's semi-weighted synth-action keyboard.
Each key features a weight inside which provides a much more sold feel when playing and results in a much more natural performance too - it is far easier to control your playing dynamics with a semi-weighted keyboard and far easier to play fast passages. Once you have used a semi-weighted keyboard for a short time, you will not want to go back to an all-plastic design. Such semi-weighted keyboards are normally only found on much more expensive synthesizers and controllers. To tailor the UF Series to your playing style and connected sound source, all models feature an adjustable velocity curve.
The UF5 omits the gimmicks and provides the features you need and the fetaures you will actually use. 8 assignable knobs, 9 assignable sliders, chunky transport controls, split and dual functions, a pitchbend wheel, a modulation wheel, aftertouch and sockets for connecting a sustain pedal, volume pedal and breath controller are all provided. It may be connected to a PC or Macintosh computer via the supplied USB cable. This provides a MIDI connection to software sequencers and virtual instruments meaning a seperate MIDI interface will not be required. A MIDI out port will appear in your sequencer allowing the CME's MIDI Out socket to act as a 16 channel MIDI interface for any hardware synthesizers or MIDI sound modules you may have.
The UF5 Series are also self-powered when connected to a suitable USB port meaning you do not need to plug in the included power supply (please note: the breath controller input and aftertouch functions require the power supply to be connected). A sustain pedal socket is provided that will accept a standard sustain pedal. The UF5 will automatically sense the polarity of a connected sustain pedal when it is switched on. A volume pedal input is also provided that will accept continuous controller pedals such as the Fatar StudioLogic VFP/26.
